CONGENITAL

This is the right eye of a new born foal(foaled last night), he is blind on both eyes, i searched everywhere to get a reference on this condition(there is no cornea), i could not get anything, i shall be happy if anyone can tell me what exactly  the condition is.

  1. Karayan,
I could not find any info regarding the lack of cornea but I could ask our local equine vet here, perhaps she can figure it out.

  5. Thank you all for your valuable suggestions and diagnosis. It is a case of tumour, and this animal being a colt not much of use, the only solution is euthanasia.

  6. Another of my friend who is a Large Animal Science Lecturer in Helsinki University, Finland gives his opinion,"Hi Kumuran,
I saw a foal with the same problem last year. It is called corneosclera and there is nothing you can do for the foal. It is a congenital defect and the foal needs to be euthanized"
