Divine protection

I am sure that all of us have felt the divine hand of protection, some time or the other, and for some of us on a daily basis. This weekend was one of those instances for me. We were going out for dinner and I decided to check my e mail. I almost never let anything come before food, but for some odd reason  I spent a few minutes to check my e mail.  I receive tons of junk e mail like everyone does. One of them was from one of my credit cards saying that there was an out of state charge for $239.00 for an exercise equipment. I have not used this particular credit card for over 6 months so the company thought it was odd and also being an out of state charge, they notified me immediately. So, I called the company immediately and they asked me a few questions to make sure that it was not me who made the charge. While they were talking to me another charge appeared on the computer for another $895.00! That was so freaky, so they closed my account immediately. I have to pursue some paper work for this but hopefully I won't have to pay for any of these charges. This was one of the cards that I had deliberately asked for a $2500.00 limit and I use it for online purchases, so I am sure if they kept charging, it would have maxed out soon; but I was so thankful that another charge happened while I was talking to the company so they figured out it was a fraudulent charge. I was relieved and we finally had dinner in peace and got back home.
Today is Sunday so I got up early to get ready for church. The first thing I do as soon as I get up is make coffee or chai depending on how I feel. I came downstairs to the kitchen and was about to turn the kettle on, but smelled a horrible smell. I realized immediately that it was natural gas. I had accidently left the stove on at low after cooking yesterday evening. It was a slow leak and so slow that we didn't smell it all evening or night. I freaked out thanked the Lord that I had not turned the stove on like I normally do in a sleepy mode. I opened the windows and doors immediately even though it was a frigid 26 F. Within 30 minutes the smell was gone and I decided to use the microwave for the coffee. So needless to say I am very thankful for the hand of divine protection over my finances and life, particularly this weekend.

  3. Bhai - I don't give my bank account information online ever to load up a credit card or for any other matter. The reason was a few years ago our University Human resources lost a ton of our personal documents and one of the victims was myself. So I had to go the bank and protect my account. One can't withdraw money from my account without a picture ID. I can't apply for credit cards easily without the company checking all kinds of information with me. I made sure to protect myself from all sorts of identity theft and inspite of the online fraud charge happened but they caught it and I am glad.
As for spam guard - yes I have it but it still doesn't give the level of protection that I need. I have to state that in the Middle east junk mail is more regulated than here.
