Yo bhaileaks - good one!! Thanks for the suggestion!
Some students love it when we give them time off after teaching for 15 minutes but the majority of them want their money's worth. For classes like philosophy, english, history etc, they don't care about learning and want only 10 minutes of lecture. But for courses like anatomy/physiology they want to know the material or else they can't get into their program of study. So when teachers let the students out early they actually complain. When the few who want to get our early complain to me I tell them that I am trying to give them their money's worth and hence they should stay the entire 75 minutes of lecture or 2-3 hrs of lab. The majority of student pay for their own way through school via jobs and student loans. There are very few cases that have parents pay for school. Our school like most private schools are expensive #30,000.00 a year and does not include food and lodging! So after a 4 year degree they are usually close to $160,000 in debt and then if they decide to go to vet or med school or other professional schools that is an additional $160,000. So they usually want their money's worth. Gujili
