These images are from Munnar - I loved this place. 1st picture - in front of Anaimudi. # 2 - the hills from the guest house that we stayed at, # 3 - view of the Munnar river (I am not sure about the name of the river) # 4 - Anaimudi in all its glory with my dad's profile. # 5 - sprawling tea estates.

You should make it to Munnar. Got to go before June 1st as the monsoon starts soon. We actually went to Ernakulam and then from there we made it to Munnar, it was a 2.5 -3 hr drive. The original plan was to rent the house boats in Alleppey for a few days and then go to Munnar but instead we stayed in Ernakulam and traveled to Munnar.
பதிலளிநீக்குRegarding Nayooran - I was wondering how far Munnuthy was from Munnar. Perhaps next time I will send him a note before going out that way, because I want to go there again. I loved the tea and brought back a few kg. If you go there also make a trip to the spice gardens they are gorgeous. I had never seen cardamom, coffee, cocoa, cloves or any spices on the plant and it was eye opening. I am biased as I do like plants. There are elephant rides in the forest for the kids, they might like that. There is so much to see in India!!

I had been to Munnar once for official conference. Not so commercialised like Ooty or Kodaikkanal.Whole Munnar is covered by tea gardens.Though on Kerala we will feel as if we are in TN.Most of the people speak tamil only. Can reach from Udumalpet or Madural

Gujili,
பதிலளிநீக்குI mentioned naayooran because, he has so many friends everywhere, he can use his "influence" to get you the best service. He can even arrange you and your family a trip inside reserve forests. I am visiting next month to wayanad and he promised me that he will take me to deep forest where adhivasis are living.

Though I had known well about Munnar's glorious nature,I did not attempt to tour there, eventhough I had been working for 10 years in Pollachi. As mentioned by Chocks,it is better to go via Udumalpet as it is the shortest one from TN.
